PRESS RELEASE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

 

CASUAL ELECTION TO ELECT A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT

IN THE THIRD ELECTORAL DIVISION

 

Casual Election in the Third Electoral Division to elect a member of Parliament following the resignation of Hon. Carmelo Abela.

 

The Electoral Commission notifies that four nominations were received until the last day allowed for nominations for a casual election for a Member of Parliament.

 

Abela Raymond, Buhagiar Martina Paula, Grech James and Plumpton Eric

 

Total number of nominations presented: 4

 

The Electoral Commission notifies that the counting of votes for the Casual Election to fill the seat vacated by Hon. Carmelo Abela, shall take place on Friday, 26th June, 2026, at the Counting Hall Complex, Naxxar. The counting will begin at 9.00am.
