deregistration of persons who are registered in the L.C. & E.P. Electoral Registers

The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the public that, by means of the provisions of Act XI of 2019,  initiated a process enabling the deregistration of persons who have lost eligibility qualifications and yet are still registered as voters in the Local Councils and European Parliament electoral registers.  Official letters were transmitted to these persons at their last known registered address.  On 30th August 2019,  the Commission published a list with the names to be deleted in the Government Gazette, in one local newspaper and may also be viewed on the Electoral Commission’s website ( under the Publications section.  The deregistration shall come into effect on the lapse of one month from the date of these notices. This process is in accordance with Article 26 of Chapter 354 of the Laws of Malta.
