Persons to serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners; Counters; Supervisors and Calculators

NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

General and Local Councils' Elections - March 2008

The Electoral Commission notifies that it will receive applications from persons whose name appears in the October 2007 Electoral Register, to serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners or to serve as counters, supervisors or calculators during the counting of votes in the forthcoming General and Local Councils' elections. Applicants would be expected to attend briefing sessions held by the Electoral Commission in due course.

Persons who are registered as voters in localities of Valletta, Isla, Żebbuġ(M), Żejtun, Balzan, Dingli, Fontana, Għajnsielem, Għasri, Iklin, Kirkop, Marsa, Mellieħa, Mqabba, Nadur, Pembroke, Qrendi, San Ġiljan, San Pawl il-Baħar, Santa Venera, Ta' Xbiex, Xewkija and Żurrieq (where Local Councils’ elections are being held) cannot serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners in none of these elections. They may however apply to serve during the counting of votes for localities or districts under which they are not registered as voters.

Applications will be received by the Electoral Commission at its Office, Evans Building, St. Elmo Square, Valletta till Tuesday 5^th February, 2008, and on Wednesday 6^th and 7^th February, 2008 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre (entrance from Mediterranean Street). Persons residing in Gozo may apply at the Identity Cards Office, 28A, St. Francis Square, Rabat, Gozo. Application forms, the only ones admissable, may be obtained from the Electoral Office from 2.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m..
