NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

NATIONAL REFERENDUM

In accordance with the provisions of sub-article (2) of article 10 of the Referenda Act (Cap. 237) and in accordance with the provisions of sub-article (j) of article 90 of the General Elections Act (Cap. 354), the Electoral Commission receives requests up to Friday, 6^th May, 2011, from bona fide organisations and groups who wish to observe the counting of ballot papers from within the area usually provided for candidates and agents in the building where counting of ballot papers takes place, from Saturday, 28^th May, 2011, during the referendum vote counting process at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.

The Electoral Commission shall evaluate all requests and, after taking into account the space available and the security requirements at the Counting Hall, the Electoral Commission will decide upon the quantitative participation of each accepted organisation and group.

The decision of the Electoral Commission shall be final.
