NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

PRESS RELEASE

The Electoral Commission refers to correspondence that appeared recently in various newspapers concerning the boundaries of communities, in particular, those of Burmarrad.

The boundaries of communities, including their respective streets, were established by the Minister responsible for Local Government by means of Article 47A of the Local Councils Act and published through Legal Notice 179 of 2010 in the Government Gazette of 26^th March, 2010.

The Electoral Commission was not responsible for the drawing up of the boundaries of communities as alleged in the correspondence that appeared in newspapers.
