LOCAL COUNCIL ELECTIONS: nomination of candidates

NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

LOCAL COUNCILS ELECTIONS –11, April, 2015

The Electoral Commissioners notify that they will be in attendance at their office in Evans Building, Merchants Street, Valletta and at the Identity Cards Office, 28A St. Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo, from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm and from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm on Wednesday 18th ,Thursday 19th and Friday 20th February, 2015, to receive nominations by candidates for the forthcoming Local Council elections:

Il-Birgu, L-Isla, Hal Qormi, Haz-Zebbug, Is-Siggiewi, H’Attard, Hal Balzan, Had-Dingli, Birzebbuga, Floriana, Il-Gzira, Ghajnsielem, Hal Gharghur, Il-Hamrun, L-Iklin, Ta’ Kercem, Hal Kirkop, Hal Luqa, Il-Marsa, Marsaxlokk, Il-Mosta, Il-Munxar, In-Nadur, Paola, Il-Qala, Hal Safi, San Giljan, San Lawrenz, San Pawl il-Bahar, Santa Lucija, Is-Swieqi, Ix-Xaghra, Iz-Zebbug, Iz-Zurrieq

Prospective candidates are advised to present their identity card and that the top section of the nomination form should reflect the details of the candidate as shown in the electoral register published on 26th January, 2015. In case that the nomination form needs to be submitted by a representative of the candidate, the representative must supply a power of attorney authenticated by a notary public.

Application forms for prospective candidates may be downloaded from the website of the Electoral Commission or may be obtained from the Office of the Electoral Commission as from today and during nomination days.

Objections to nominations shall be received at the same office during the days and hours established for nominations as well as on Saturday 21st and Monday 23rd February, 2015, during the same hours.
