NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

Local Councils' Elections – 10 March 2012

The Electoral Commission notifies that it will receive applications from persons, whose name appears in the last issue of the Local Councils’ Electoral Register, to serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners or to serve as counters, supervisors or calculators during the counting of votes in the forthcoming Local Councils’ Elections due to be held on 10^th March, 2012, for the localities of Birgu, L-Isla, Hal Qormi, Haz-Zebbug, Is-Siggiewi, H’Attard, Hal Balzan, Birzebbuga, Had-Dingli, Floriana, Il-Gzira, Ghajnsielem, Hal Gharghur, Il-Hamrun, L-Iklin, Kercem, Hal Kirkop, Hal-Luqa, Il-Marsa, Marsaxlokk, Il-Mosta, Il-Munxar, In-Nadur, Paola, Il-Qala, Hal Safi, San Giljan, San Lawrenz, San Pawl il-Bahar, Santa Lucija, Is-Swieqi, Ix-Xaghra, Iz-Zebbug and Iz-Zurrieq.

Persons who are registered as voters in localities where Local Councils’ elections are being held cannot apply to serve as Assistant Electoral Commissioners. They may however apply to serve during the counting of votes.

Applications will be received by the Electoral Commission at its Office, Evans Building, St. Elmo Square, Valletta, and for persons residing in Gozo at the Identity Cards Office, 28A, St. Francis Square, Rabat, Gozo, from Monday 16^th January up to Friday 20^th January, 2012, from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. and on Saturday 21^st January from 8.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Application forms, the only ones admissable, may be obtained from the Electoral Office on the above mentioned dates and times.
