NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

GENERAL ELECTIONS 2008 – CASUAL ELECTIONS

The Electoral Commission notifies that the counting process for the Casual Elections to fill the 12 vacated Parliamentary seats shall be held on Thursday 17^th April, 2008, at the Naxxar Counting Complex.

The counting shall commence at 8.00 a.m. however, since there are candidates contesting more than one district, the counting process cannot be held simultaneously for all 12 elections. For this reason, at 8.00 a.m. of 17^th April, a lot shall be held to establish which districts shall be counted immediately after 8.00 a.m. and which districts shall be counted after the counting procedure of the said randomly-selected districts has been concluded.
