Voting by persons who shall be abroad on polling day – 24 May, 2014

The Electoral Commission reminds those voters who shall be abroad on polling day, Saturday, 24th May, and who wish to vote in advance on Saturday, 17th May, 2014, at Naxxar, that they have until noon of Friday, 16th May, 2014, to effect a sworn/solemn statement in front of an Electoral Commissioner declaring their being abroad on 24th May, 2014. This solemn statement on oath shall be made at the Office of the Electoral Commission, Evans Building, St. Elmo Square, Valletta, or at the Identity Cards Office, St. Francis Square, Victoria, Gozo, according to the hours indicated below:

Monday, 12th, to Thursday, 15th May: from 8.00 am to 2.00 pm and from 3.00 pm to 7.00 pm

Friday 16th May (last half day) from 8.00 am to noon

When a person calls to make a sworn/solemn statement it is important that one brings one’s own identity or residence card, and that on the day of advanced voting (17/05/2014) the person must be in possession of one’s own voting document as, without it, no one shall be allowed to vote.
