Voting by persons who shall be abroad on polling day

The Electoral Commission reminds those voters who shall be abroad on polling day, Saturday, 9th March, 2013, and who wish to vote in advance on Saturday, 2nd March, 2013, that they have until noon of Friday, 1st March, 2013, to effect a sworn/solemn statement in front of an Electoral Commissioner declaring their being abroad on 9th March, 2013. This solemn statement on oath shall be made at the Office of the Electoral Commission, Evans Building, St. Elmo Square, Valletta, or at the Identity Cards Office, St. Francis Square, Rabat, Gozo, according to the hours indicated below:

Monday, 25th, to Thursday, 28th February: from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 7.00 pm.

Friday 1st March: (last half day) from 8.00 a.m. to noon

When a person calls to make the sworn/solemn statement it is important that one brings one’s own identity card, and that on the day of advanced voting (02/03/2013) the person must be in possession of one’s own voting document as, without it, no one shall be allowed to vote.
