voting at St Vincent de Paule Residence and Hospitals

NOTICE BY THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION

GENERAL AND LOCAL COUNCILS’ ELECTIONS - 2013

Following amendments to the electoral legislation, voting is taking place on Friday, 8 March 2013, at St Vincent de Paule Residence, Mater Dei Hospital, Karen Grech Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital and Gozo General Hospital.

It is important that the Electoral Commission should be in a position to make the necessary preparations and verifications in order that the residents/patients in these places would be able to exercise their right to vote as established by law.

Therefore, the Electoral Commission notifies that:

In respect of St Vincent de Paule Residence –

Those relatives and persons who have received or hold a voting document on behalf of relatives or other persons who presently reside at St Vincent de Paule Residence have to ensure that such voting document is handed over to the person concerned by not later than Monday, 4 March 2013.

Mater Dei Hospital, Karen Grech Hospital, Mount Carmel Hospital and Gozo General Hospital –

All voters who will be recovered in one of the above Hospitals at 6.00 p.m. of Tuesday, 5 March 2013, shall vote at the Hospital where the voters will be recovered on that date and time and not as indicated on the voting document, even if such voters are released from Hospital after that date and time.

These voters should ensure that their voting document/s is/are in their possession and are to inform the Electoral Commission in case of any difficulty.

On their part, those persons or relatives of these voters who may have received or hold a voting document on behalf of these voters should ensure that such voting document is handed over to the voter concerned by Monday, 4 March 2013.
